Monster Club Interview (Annie/Soyeon)

Hello and welcome to the next Monster Club Interview! I hope most of you are sticking with us for this one because today we’re interviewing the newest member of the club, Annie! Now some of ya’ll have actually asked WHO Annie is. So just a refresher, Annie is a young Korean witch who has no family and found the Monster Club while fleeing from the Dawn Bringers. She’s only 11 years old and she’s quite a little cutie. Now as before, be respectful in your questions. All questions will be in bold text and all of my statements will be in italics. We good? Great! Then let’s get started.

Question 1: Will you be my cuddle buddy!? You’re so cute I could cuddle you to pieces! -wrecker
Annie: Hehehe! Yes! I love cuddles!

Question 2: How much magic do you know? Can you summon demons or spirits? -Brent
Annie: I…do not really know much. I cannot summon much of anything. But I try my best to do little things…that good right?

Question 3: Why do you carry that stuffed cat everywhere? -Ethan R.
Annie: Mr. Blacky? He is my best friend for a long time. I never go anywhere without him. Mommy gave him to me.

Question 4: What magical tradition do you follow, if any? -Christian
Annie: Magical tradition? I do not really know that…It is hard to know.

Question 5: Were you the only one in your family with magic powers? -katniss246
Annie: Mommy could. Daddy…could not. Daddy never liked it much when Mommy taught me magic. He sometime get angry at her for it. I not know why…Daddy is scary sometime.

Question 6: What did you think of the club when you first saw them? -DeathKnightofAnime
Annie: They looked funny.
Me: Because they were monsters?
Annie: No! Because they all so silly. I liked them…wanted to go with them and have fun like they have fun.
Me: Annie, you know they weren’t having fun when you met them. They were trying to steal a bus to go home.
Annie: More fun than I have had in very long time!

Question 7: Do you think of Abraham as a big brother more than anyone else in the club even though he’s human? -Stephona
Annie: …Abraham is like me.
Me: He’s not a witch, Annie.
Annie: No, he is not witch…but he is like me. He is not monster, but he is family to them. He just wants to…belong somewhere. Me too. I want to belong…So I understand Abraham. He is like a big brother, yes.

Question 8: Does your magic tire you in any way? -Korial16
Annie: Depend on strength of spell. It is like….erm….I cannot think of good compare. OH! It like when you push a big object! The bigger the box, the more energy you use. Same with magic! The larger the spell or object you are casting…the more energy.

Question 9: What was the first spell you ever tried and which spell are you most proud of? On a more personal note, who are your 3 most fictional characters? -GreenHa
Mommy taught me how to create fire! I speak the word fire in Korean and focus on word…word becomes life in my hand…and word becomes real! Mommy was so proud of me! Daddy was kind of upset though. And fictional characters?
Me: Your favorite fairy tale or story book characters
Annie: OH! I love Winnie the Pooh! I also like…Bugs Bunny because he is so funny! And I…erm…I’m not sure if I know any others.
Me: You like Disney movies, Annie. Who is your favorite Disney princess?
Annie: ….Mulan!
Me: Then could Mulan be your third favorite fictional character?
Annie: Yes! She is!

Question 10: Seeing that a family takes you in and falls apart closely afterwards, did you feel that it was your fault? If you do, then why do you blame yourself? Have you had bad luck such as this in the past? -Sam
Annie: ….It…is not because I try. I am witch and…Mommy told me to always practice and get better. But sometimes adoptive family find out about magic and…try to hurt me. Or they do not love me right. I do not….I do not like thinking it all my fault. It always happens too…they do not like me or they do not get along….one family abusive….It is so frustrating.

Question 11: Do you like wearing normal clothes or just your witch clothes? -Stephona
Annie: I do not have witch clothes…I just wear clothes. Are there witch clothes?
Me: Some fictional stories have witch clothing. I never wrote any witch clothing into your story, Annie. Don’t worry about it.
Annie: Okay!

Question 12: Do you like to draw or write or anything? -Stephona
Annie: I like to draw with crayons. Coloring! It is fun to make really pretty pictures. I took art class in school once and I colored a really pretty flower! I was really little then…it was not very good.

Question 13: Do you know Korean besides using it for spells?
Annie: 저는 한국 사람입니다 (Jeoneun hanguk saramibnida)
Me: She just told you that she IS Korean, so yes. And Annie…that was kind of rude. You shouldn’t tease people.
Annie: 미안해 (Mianhae)

Question 14: When did you start wearing glasses? -Niko
Annie: Since I was…I think 7. Do not have good eyesight. It is kind of embarrassing.

Question 15: What is your favorite spell? -Pseudowitch
Annie: I do not have one. I just cast what I need.

Question 16: Did you have any other friends or relations before you met the Monster Club? -Darth-Drago
Annie: When I rotated between families, I make some friends while in school. They were nice and did not know I was a witch. But when had to run away, I leave them behind too. It was sad to leave them…If I could, I want to see again.

Question 17: Will you try to prove yourself to Mato and the others like Abraham is doing right now? -Seth
Annie: Trying to prove myself to everyone. I want all of the Club to like me.

Question 18: What do you want to do when you grow up? -SassyDragon18
Annie: I am not sure yet. Maybe be a teacher? I want to share what I know! Don’t know what I teach yet though…I do not like math or science. I like writing though…and I am good at history and dates. Maybe could teach that?
Me: That’s a good goal.
Annie: Yes! I will be teacher!

Question 19: What do you like most about the Club? -Dinokid16
Annie: They are good to me…and they are funny! Tamil so silly and Abraham is like big brother. Even Asher is nice when he is not grumpy. They do not act mean when they know I am witch. I love this family.

Question 20: What influences your magic? For example, if you were to summon up a spirit, would they resemble an animal, a human being, a cartoon character, or something else entirely? Does the culture of your homeland bear any influence on your magic? On a similar note, how do you cast spells? Is it like most video games where you have a reserve of magical energy (and if it is, does it recharge on its own or can you do that by drinking a potion or something)? Or do you channel magical energy from somewhere else and use it to cast spells (and if you do, how physically taxing is it)?
Annie: ….Um….I do not…understand.
Me: It’s okay Annie. Take it one step at a time. What do you think inspires you when using magic?
Annie: Inspires? Um…I always think about Mommy when using magic…she was my inspiration.
Me: Okay, and do you think that being Korean impacts you?
Annie: It does not make a difference to me.
Me: Now you already explained how you cast spells but go into a little detail.
Annie: Mommy used to say magic was a three step method. Focus, Visualize, and Create. First I pull energy from in my tummy and I channel to hands or feet…or wherever magic coming from…it is usually hands. Then I picture what I want the energy to do…to create fire or change a rock to a daisy. Then I say phrase of desire in my language. Mommy call it “mantra” and it help focus energy to desire. Then it create desire in reality. It does not make sense?
Me: No Annie, you explained that very well. I’m proud of you.
Annie: Hehehe! Thank you!

Question 21: Have you ever tried riding a broomstick? -Brent
Annie: Hehehe nope.

Question 22: When you first met the Club while stealing a bus, where you there by coincidence or what? -Brent
Annie: I had been on the run from the Dawn Bringers and Drake Cross. I was outside of the school then.

Question 23: Ever since you joined the Club, it’s been one thing after another and I feel like we haven’t really gotten to know you, Annie. Tell us a little about yourself. Are you adventurous or laid back? Smart or silly? How do you see yourself? -LastoftheWolves
Annie: I like to think I am fun and adventurous…but I am also a little shy around people. I like to study things and I want to learn about the world. My favorite superhero of all is Indiana Jones! He is my favorite!
Me: Indiana Jones isn’t really a superhero. He’s an action movie hero.
Annie: Well he is still favorite. I see all his movies and want be like that! Going around and finding amazing things. Is it silly to think this way?
Me: Not at all.
Annie: I think I am sometimes silly, but I want to be friendly and brave.
